"You can be analytical and commercial at the same time"

What’s it really like to work at Genesta? Investment Manager Emma Stenlund shares what makes the culture stand out – and why Genesta is a great place to grow if you’re driven by both data and real impact.
Emma, you joined Genesta five years ago. What brought you here?
Before Genesta, I was working with logistics at NREP and
had a strong interest in the segment. I wanted to broaden my perspective and be
part of the full investment cycle — from sourcing and underwriting to business
planning and exits. Genesta offered just that: a platform with a clear
strategy, hands-on responsibility, and a highly professional team.
What makes the work here unique, in your view?
It’s the combination of being analytical and commercial at the same time. We
work data-driven, but we also make strategic decisions that have a real impact.
You’re not just building Excel models — you’re shaping places. That mix is
incredibly rewarding.
What are you working on right now?
I’m currently focused on two very different, but equally exciting, projects.
One is Enköping Logistikcenter, where we’re developing a high-quality,
sustainable logistics hub in one of Sweden’s best-connected locations. The
other is Arninge Centrum, a retail property north of Stockholm where we’re
driving a long-term transformation to make it more attractive, modern, and
relevant for the local community.
You have been listed as one of Sweden’s
top young talents in real estate. Would you say Genesta is a good place for
someone who wants to build a strong career?
Definitely. If you’re motivated and want to grow, this is a place that gives
you both responsibility and support. I’ve been trusted with real challenges
from day one, and I’ve had the chance to work closely with colleagues I learn
from constantly. It’s a steep learning curve — but that’s exactly what makes it
so rewarding.
How would you describe the culture at Genesta?
It’s high-performing, but also collaborative. People are ambitious and sharp,
but also down-to-earth and helpful. There’s a strong sense of trust — you’re
expected to take ownership, but you’re also supported. That balance creates a
great environment to grow in.
Why should someone apply for the Financial Analyst role?
Because it’s a fantastic opportunity to learn the business from the inside.
You’ll be involved in real deals, work closely with senior people, and see your
analysis make a difference. And if you’re curious, driven, and love numbers —
you’ll feel right at home here.
