Genesta’s dedication to drive sustainability in the real estate sector has gained international recognition: we are proud to announce that we were invited to the prestigious United Nations Private Sector Forum (PSF). This exclusive event was held during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) in New York City.

Our CEO, David Neil, joined an esteemed group of global leaders from both the public and private sector to discuss the most pressing challenges of our time, including climate change, sustainable development and human rights.

An International Recognition for Genesta at the Highest Level

Since its inception in 2008, the Private Sector Forum has provided a unique platform for business leaders to collaborate with heads of state, senior UN officials and civil society representatives.

Hosted by the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, this invitation-only event is dedicated to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and accelerating global action towards a more sustainable future.

Aligning with the SDGs

The UN General Assembly (UNGA) is where the world’s 193 member states gather to tackle the most critical global issues. This year, UNGA79 emphasizes sustainability, security, and peace.

- Real estate plays a key role in sustainable development and our industry has a great opportunity to make a positive impact by reducing our carbon footprint and strengthening the resilience of our cities. As the 2030 deadline for the SDGs approaches, it's crucial for us to lead the way in this global effort, says David Neil.

A Continued Commitment to Sustainability

As David Neil prepares to participate in the high-level discussions at the UN, we at Genesta remain focused on continuously improving our sustainability efforts and making meaningful changes wherever we can—every day. We believe that consistent, deliberate improvements over time have a greater long-term impact than large, short-term shifts. This is the approach we will continue to take as we work towards a more sustainable future.
