Genesta Powers Up: 1 MW Solar Installation in Brunna
This not only reduces the carbon footprint of our assets but also offers a sustainable energy source for our tenants, aligning perfectly with our shared goals of environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.
- Tobias Tillander, Investement Manager, Genesta.
Genesta takes another step towards sustainable energy practices with the installation of a 1 MW solar power system on two logistics properties in Brunna, Stockholm. This initiative, expected to generate 750,000 kWh of renewable energy annually, underscores our commitment to significantly reducing our properties' carbon footprint. This would more than double our renewable energy production in our fund GNRE Core Plus Open-ended, that Brunna is part of.
Building upon our 2023 initiative, where we invested in on-site energy production by installing 2.5 MWp photovoltaic systems across our assets, we now continue this impactful journey.
- By integrating renewable energy sources like solar power and exploring battery storage opportunities, we enhance the energy efficiency of our properties and reduce their climate impact, says Tobias Tillander, Genesta's Investment Manager.
The installation in Brunna, made in partnership with Stockholm Exergi, aligns with Genesta's overall sustainability strategy.
- When acquiring new assets, we carefully evaluate the potential for on-site renewable energy production, including solar and geothermal technologies. By investing in and utilizing these renewable energy sources, we not only reduce overall carbon emissions but also enhance the sustainability of our properties, says David Neil, Genesta's CEO.
On-site renewable energy initiatives will remain a cornerstone of our strategy.
- This not only reduces the carbon footprint of our assets but also offers a sustainable energy source for our tenants, aligning perfectly with our shared goals of environmental responsibility and operational efficiency, says Tobias Tillander.
